I kind of miss writing...just getting thoughts out there.

I'm working three jobs at the moment...and it seems that extended internet access is rare.

And I still don't have a ton of money.

Certain anniversaries are difficult....

They might ask you:

When was the last time you prayed?

When was your last time reading the Bible?

When was your last confession?

When did you last tell someone of your faith?

When was your last communion?

When did you last beat temptation?

For...these are the things that make you a member of the church, the things that makes you sons and daughter of God, the things that make you Christians.

But I might ask you:

When was the last time you told someone you loved them? And meant it?

When was the last time you gave a shoulder to someone who shed tears?

When was the last time you did something unselfish?

When did you last give an ear to someone who needed to talk?

When did you last visit someone who was lonely?

When did you last care about anyone else more than yourself?

When did you last actually feel like you were alive?

For these are the things life is about....

There are lots of people who follow the first list to the letter...they never miss a service, they never miss a prayer, they have ever word memorized, they put inspirational quotes as their facebook messages, they say all the right things, do all the right things, and appear to be all the right things.

But they forget the second list - and in their selfish need to appear pious, they fail. And in turn, ruin the entire faith...

But those that follow the second list...

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
